06/09 You know you’re in the Rockies when you get to soak in some hot springs. Staying in Jackson at the Jackson Hot Springs Lodge and CG. For $10 you can camp out in their backyard area and have access to the hot springs and showers. I was in the pool 20 minutes after I got here. It was so nice relaxing in it after having been on then road all day. There are a couple other touring cyclists staying here too (in cabins though). The guys name is Sean and he’s riding with his wife from Oregon to Virginia. I still have yet to meet anyone riding North.
Climbed up over 2 passes today. Neither one of them were very steep but they were a little long so I took some much needed breaks. Lot’s of trucks passed by so I had to stay on my toes since there’s a very small shoulder. Right when I was leaving Dillon about 6 deer ran right across the road in front of me. That was kind of an interesting way to start the day.
The weather ended up not being too bad but its still pretty cold. No wind and no rain so I’m not complaining. It was nice having the sun out for a good part of the day.
Update: Tonight turned out to be a great change from my normal day of riding, eating, sleeping. Hung out with Glenn, Jeff, Sharon and Michelle at the lounge here and then had dinner followed by some drinks in the hot springs. It was sure nice to finally meet some other people and hang out for more than an hour. None of them are biking but everyone had a little something crazy going on so it was fun to hang out. We also got to see the most amazing sunset. There were streaks of red in the sky that were so bright it was almost unbelievable.

hi son, great to see you haven’t been eaten by a grizzly or crushed by an out of control semi, I worry about these things when you don’t post for a few days. speaking of worrying, do you really feel as though it’s necessary to break the land speed record going downhill, so many things could happen, none of them good, especially with those crappy tires you have to use. Great pics, really nice, everyone seems to be enjoying them. Today is you uncle daves’ birthday, yes I know ,he’s really old…much older than I am. Take care and be careful. call me as soon as you get a chance.
hi brother. amazing sunset indeed. and that asylum was creepy for sure..i’ve seen enough movies to know that! be safe, i’ll see you soon.
