Decided to hang out here in Wasa for a day and rest a bit. The resting part isn’t going so well though. It turns out that my VISA card isn’t on the networks that the ATM’s up here use so I can’t take out any cash. I’m down to $20. So I’ve been spending the last couple hours trying to figure out how to get an actual ATM card mailed to me. The last time I tried this the card was returned to the bank because they couldn’t send it to a general delivery address.
My hero of the day is Wendy, the owner of Freewheel Cycle in Jasper. She jumped on a conference call with my bank in Florida and said she’d be fine with having the card sent to her store. I had to use the motel’s only phone for all this because the rooms don’t have one. The 800 number to use my calling card doesn’t work here either. Touring sure ain’t easy. I’m glad the ATM issue is finally taken care of though. Boy would I like to find the person that stole my card number in the first place and just rain an ass-kicking down on them the likes of which have never been seen before.
The weather is perfect now that I’m safely tucked away in a motel of course. Hopefully it’ll be like this tomorrow when I hit the road.
