McLeod Meadows Campground, BC to Castle Mountain Campground, Alberta
Posted by scott in Leg 106/21 Another quiet day of riding through the northern Rockies… if you don’t count the giant freaking bear I saw! It was kind of a good thing that someone else saw him first because I would have ridden within 15 feet of him. He was kind of chewing away on the leaves minding his own business so I took a couple quick pictures from the other side of the road next to some people that looked slower than me. Needless to say, it was very exciting to see a bear finally.
I’m all set up at camp waiting for my sister(s) and nephew’s arrival tomorrow. Not sure what I’m going to do for the day until they get here at 5pm or so. There’s a store/lodge only a mile away. Maybe I’ll shoot over there and see if they have wifi. Update: I’m going to avoid the store. A can of soup cost me $5.95. Crazy. I’m already not going to like this campground. I heard a train horn while I was typing this. I so hate trains at this point its not even funny.
Met a couple nice people at one of the stops along the highway. Henk is over here from the Netherlands with his friend(?). They are driving from Virginia to Alaska. His web site is www.hggroen.blogspot.com. Hope they have a great trip.

You much have got censored: “…to see a bear finally. They sure are”…?
3rd pic down is amazing.
Ha. I thought I fixed that typo.
Very, very good time, beautiful spot. Friends and I went six years in a row. We played “pooh sticks” from the bridge, feeling good at 3:00 AM.
