I was trying to avoid signing up for any kind of rate plan because I’d be paying a high monthly fee for something I might not even be able to use. Reception is almost non-existent up here and it won’t be any better until I get down to Vancouver (couple months). So I got the pay-as-you-go plan which means I only have to pay when I use the phone. AT&T pay plans don’t let you roam in Canada which I didn’t know until I got here (although you can in Mexico–go figure). That’s why I got the sim card from a Canadian provider and bought $10 in prepaid minutes (up to $30 now).

Sounds to me like the lady at the Canada Post is from S. Florida. I sure don’t miss that! One definitely doesn’t find that attitude here!
