07/09 It was bizarre photographer day again. This time I was riding up a hill when this white car passes me. At the top of the hill the guy gets out and starts taking pictures of me while I’m riding toward him. I kind of kept my head down so his pictures wouldn’t be that great but what I should have done is busted out my camera and started taking pictures of him. When I get up to where he’s standing at the back of his car he says, “Hope you don’t mind.” Why even bother asking? I told him that usually people ask first and kept going. I would have been totally fine with him slowing down and asking if it was OK first. Who wants their picture taking with drool, sweat and tears running down their face while riding up a hill (yeah, it’s that messy).
Had a nice sardine/pita sandwich for lunch along with some dried sausage, fruit in a cup and 2 chocolate bars. Ate it while sitting down at the side of road. I did a little better at not dripping sardine juice all over me. This is big time black bear country up here so I have to be a little careful.
I thought for sure I’d be riding in the rain but other than it been colder after the front came through the rain stayed away until 3:30pm or so. By that time I’d set up the tent so let it rain. Before heading over to the CG I stopped at the Buckinghorse River Lodge across the street and had some coffee and rhubarb pie with ice cream. Yum.
Tomorrow it looks like I’ll be camping out in the woods. Nothing as far as campgrounds until I hit Fort Nelson and that’s too far for one day. I’ll have to pack some extra water because there are no services either.
