08/31 The ferry ride went smoothly. Saw lots of whales again. We arrived in port at 10:30pm so it was pitch black. A backpacker told me about a campsite up the road so off I went. From the port to the CG it was about 4 miles and there were no street lights. This was the first time I’ve ever ridden in complete darkness. My rear light worked fine but the batteries in the front one were dead (I knew about it). I ended up wearing a headlamp. Didn’t crash into anything which was good.
