10/05 Feels good to be back on the road. The 2 days off sure helped get my butt get back in shape again. Half Moon Bay State Park is only 35 miles from SF which worked out perfectly. Tomorrow will be a bit longer so I’ll have to watch that I don’t do too much too soon.

Dave had mentioned that the area around Daly City was a bit crazy but I followed the ACA route which pulled me onto a perfect stretch of road that was closed to cars but open for bikes. That lasted a few miles and then it it was back on US 1 which was 2 lanes with no shoulders. People moved over almost 100% of the time so even going around blind corners I wasn’t that worried.

The repositioning of my front pannier seemed to help because I didn’t have to go running back up any hills to get it after it popped off. It’ll be nice to be able to go downhill without having to worry about that anymore. I did notice that all the pavement sliding tore multiple holes in the wet bag I use to keep my hiking shoes in. I stopped in a sporting good store to find a replacement but they didn’t have anything. Maybe I’ll toss them in a plastic bag for now.

Ran into a couple guys here at camp that I haven’t seen for a couple weeks. Good to see some friendly faces.
