Looks like my quest to get at least 2 things taken care of before I leave here tomorrow won’t happen. There’s a hotel I’ve been emailing to see if they’d accept delivery of the rack for me. I thought it was in a town called Jutiapa which is about 10km from the city of Progreso. Funny thing is about 50 miles to the south there’s a town called Progreso 10km from the city of Jutiapa. That’s where the hotel actually is. No biggie though–it’s just as easy for me to ride to either place. Hopefully I hear back from them today.

No luck getting a few pounds of gear shipped out of here. I asked at the hotel if there was another place I could ship something to the States. They sent me over to a distributor but they only ship within Guatemala. So in a city of 180,000 the one place that ships internationally is closed and there are no other options. Sweet. It just means I’ll have more weight on the bike for a while. I know at least 60 miles of the route I’m taking out of here is dirt so ‘ll just have to be careful with the broken rack.
