11/17 Weaved through some impressive traffic to arrive in the 3rd largest city in Colombia. 2.2 million people call this city home and I think the were all out driving when I got here. Tracking down the hostel I was planning to stay at went fairly well but I ended up getting a room at the Hotel Sator. It has everything the hostel did with the advantage of not having to talk to anyone.
I’m such a loner sometimes.
The hostel was the Iguana and the room they had available was massive. Really, the only reason I left was because there were a bunch of gringos there (all guys so there was even less incentive to stay). The room at the hotel is tiny and the old man at the front desk hates me because I made him walk up 3 flights of stairs to check the wireless router. Not sure why he didn’t believe me that it wasn’t working. By the time he got up there it started working but when I went back to my room it stopped authenticating again. I snuck back up to where it’s mounted on the wall and unplugged it, waited a few and then plugged it back in. Its been working fine ever since. The shower is also the best one in Colombia so far.
Day 2 of something breaking on me. This time my only remaining water immersion heater broke. I actually had to buy breakfast this morning. Tomorrow I’m on a mission to find new one. I also need to find a home for my bike in Ecuador so I can fly home and see my loving family.
About 10 miles after leaving this morning 2 cops on a motorcycle (yes, they share motorcycles here) pulled up and motioned for me to stop. All they wanted was to ask about my trip. They were really nice but it was kind of annoying.
Had the best Chinese food ever for dinner. It was at a restaurant called China on Av Sexta (Ave 6n). Delicious.
No pictures today. Just imagine a huge flat, treeless valley filled with farmland.

Is your loving family aware of your arrival? BTW Box # 2 has arrived. Can’t wait for you to meet our new dog and he will love to snuggle on the couch with you.
Umm not sure about the timing just yet. 2 boxes down, 10 to go.
