05/09 Quiet day. The road was in good shape but the last climb was a little steep in places. No problems with the bike but something seems a little off. It almost feels a tiny bit springy or something. I think it might be the new seat.

Both my kickstands are bent and pretty much useless. The front one could be saved with some welding but the back one is toast. Rather than keep investing in replacements I’m going to pick up this thing called a Click Stand. Pretty sure that’s the name of it. I know another guy using one and he seems to like it. From what I remember it’s a collapsible length of pole; not unlike a tent pole. You just pop it open, plant one end into the ground and set the top tube into the cradle.

Cajabamba is quite a charming little town. Nice clean plaza, buildings in good shape and a pedestrian walkway that extends several blocks. Staying at the Hotel La Casona. One of the most modern rooms I’ve been in. They think they have internet service but it’s not working. Their DSL provider is probably having issues. This is one of those times that even if I knew more Spanish I don’t think the guy would understand what was wrong.
