07/12 What a way to finish the day. Big climb at the end but I managed to claw my way up to the city and find a place to stay. The hotel is nice so I’m going to take a rest day and make it into Cusco on the 16th. There’s a guy staying here who has been motorcycling around South America for 2.5 years. We’re heading out to grab pizza and beer (I really need a beer after today).
Stayed in Kishuara last night at the Hostel San Jose. Getting into that place meant riding down a bad dirt road but it wasn’t nearly as bad as the 33 mile downhill I had to go down today. That was rough. The mountain views were incredible and made up for all the bouncing around.
Getting excited about going to Florida. It’ll be for 3 weeks and then I fly back here. I said this before but this might be the last time going there for a while because tickets are going to be extremely expensive once I get to the eastern hemisphere. I’ve already made a list of all the food I want to eat. )
