11/06 It’s a miracle! No headwind and the road only sucked a little. It was all desert so no pictures or exciting tales to tell. No problems getting into the city as far as people trying to jack my bike. In fact it was so hot out hardly anyone was walking around. Hit 109 F by 11am.
I ended up getting a room at Hostel Sosahaus. Private room, AC, awesome shower, fast wifi, big bed (with no foot board) for 100 pesos. Paid for 3 nights then I head south for a bit before crossing over into Chile. I’ll actually be crossing not far from where the plane crashed in 1972 with the rugby team on board. The survivors had to resort to cannibalism just to stay alive (or possibly because of the ridiculously high food prices in Argentina–I’ve been considering cannibalism for the very same reason). The movie Alive! was based on the crash.
Time for a new kickstand.
Yes, the expensive bottom bracket mounted one is all splayed out and pretty much useless at this point. I guess I’ll just keep buying crappy side mount ones every month for the rest of my life.
