Just came across your page while doing a search on Zona Bici. Your experience at the shop is not uncommon if you are not local. I know it is a business yet they seem not to want to attend or do much business with foreigners. I now reside in Oaxaca and it is unfortunately the only shop that has decent, but expensive, bikes and accessories. I have been riding for over 45 years, so I know a little about cycling. The help tends to steer you in the wrong direction when answering an inquiry, offers items for your bike that you know are not compatible or will cause more trouble than what you are wanting to cure. Some items have to be ordered and even though you give them your name and number they will never call you either way. Nine weeks ago I placed an order for a set of Specialized MTB tires they of course did not have in stock. I was told they would be in the following week. After the week was up and not ever hearing from them I went to the shop and was told another week. I returned a week later and told them to call me the following week either way. Like I said it has been 9 weeks and still no tires. Two weeks ago I ordered the tires online and received them from the U.S. in @10 days. They have opened Specialized concept store further downtown that is pretty sweet but now the prices are really high, and, they charge @ 50 USD to test ride one of their Specialized bikes that have been solely designated for trial only. Back home you hand over your ID, they charge your card .01 to confirm the card works and your off. I do have to say in all honesty though that in their new store there is a new young lady that really tries to help as best she can so I do give her credit for that, but in the old store on Garcia Virgil nothing has changed.

Hello,
I just came across this page and its amazing!..The pictures are great!
I am thinking about doing this ride from Pikeville to Cleveland and then back.
How were the roads?
How were you treated by the drivers?
Any suggestions?
Were their places along the way to grab food, Gatorade, etc?

Scott, we met you are South Beach and took you for food, water and beer. You tried to pay us for the beer and we told you to pay it forward. We have enjoyed watching over your shoulder as you traveled the world. I am extremely glad that you are home and safe. Stay safe and happy, we are sure you will make a big difference in the world with your vast, up close and personal experiences.

Scott,
Congratulations on a fantastic trip. I found your site the first week you started and followed you on and off the entire way. You helped motivate me to take 2 months off and ride across the country last year. I admire what you did. The blog was well done and the pictures were fantastic. If you get to the north florida area or plan to do any presentations on your trip please send me an e-mail.

Scott,

I met you in 2009 along the California coastline and have followed you ever since. Reading about your journey has been an inspiration to me. I have mentioned you to many friends, saying, "Yea, I met this guy who is biking around the world..."

Congratulations on ending your trip. Don't let this be the adventure of your lifetime, but rather, make sure that the entirety of your life is an adventure.

Drop me a line when you make it to Atlanta and have some time to spare. Would love to hear about your travels first hand.
